Charlotte Howell
Faith is at the heart of what I write, because it is at the heart of everything I am. My characters are imperfect, stubborn and deeply human. The kind of people who argue with God, grieve harder than they imagine, and find love arriving when they least expect it.When I am not writing, I can be found wandering the moutains with my husband, reading books by the fire with a cat on my lap, and daydreaming far too often about fictional characters.
About My Stories
My first novel (to be published) follows Rowena Grimsby, who, left destitute by her father’s ruin, is forced to secure a position as a companion to the formidable Lady Agatha Marchmont in London. While in her employ, she meets Lady Agatha’s loveable niece, Clarimond Netherby, and enigmatic "nephew," Quenton Rookwood. As she grows closer to Lady Agatha and her family, Rowena must confront her deep-seated fear of abandonment and choose between a life of safe solitude or one of love.
I am also currently working on my second novel, which follows Henry Brookshire (introduced in Book 1), a dutiful solicitor hiding his dream of becoming a missionary in Africa. He crosses paths with a wealthy lord’s daughter with the dream of becoming a published novelist. Bound by societal expectations and their mother’s matchmaking, Henry and Adelaide must challenge their reputations, careers, and family ties to fight for their true calling—and each other.I have already started planning out my third novel, which will follow the story of Octavia Brookshire, and the Crimean veteran, Colonel D. Graves (introduced in Book 2).
